Melissa Hirn


Melissa Hirn has been practicing law for over 15 years and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.  Ms. Hirn holds a B.S. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in music and political science from Western Michigan University and a J.D. from The University of Dayton School of Law.  While attending law school, Ms. Hirn was an Associate Editor of The University of Dayton Law Review.  Ms. Hirn’s professional career has been varied and has included experience with labor and employment law, a solo firm specializing in adoption work, as well as having owned a small business managing a musical performing ensemble.

Ms. Hirn is a former recipient of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Study Fellowship and has earned a Family Law Certificate from the Institute for Continuing Legal Education.  Most recently, Ms. Hirn has been employed as a research attorney for the Wayne County Circuit Court.  Currently, her practice focuses on family law, adoption, employment law and risk management.  In addition to maintaining a law practice, Ms. Hirn is also a professional musician, having performed and taught violin and viola for over 20 years.
